Patients on Blood Thinners After Surgery
Our nurses will give you information on the foods and medications that can interfere with the effectiveness of the blood thinning medication.
Outpatient Information
It is necessary you have a responsible adult with you to assist you after surgery - since you will not be able to drive for 24 hours. You are also not going to be able to cook for yourself and you may need assistance in moving about. It is a good idea for someone to check on you every few hours at night and be there to assist you with taking your medication. If you were to have a complication, that person would help in obtaining the needed medical assistance.
Inpatient Surgery
Some surgeries will require you to stay at the hospital overnight. For these patients, we want your stay in our guest suites to be a home away from home. Please take a look at all the information under Your Stay to learn about what to expect for your overnight stay at Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital.
