Joanie Young, MA, OTR/L, CHT
Joanie graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1977 and received a Master’s degree in Health Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  She received her Hand therapy certification in 1999 and also has certifications in both Graston Techniques and Workwell Functional Capacity Evaluation.  Joanie has worked at Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital since February of 2005 and has specialized as a hand therapist over the past 25 years. She has a special interest in multiple hand trauma patients and working in collaboration with the physician and patient. Joanie has earned distinguished awards including the Nebraska Occupational Therapy Association Practitioner of the Year and the Clinical Educator of the Year. She also lectures on hand therapy at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Creighton University and St. Mary’s College.
